Welcome to The Royals Removals. We provide reliable and professional house removals, flat moves, office relocations, and man and van services across Birmingham and the West Midlands, including Coventry, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Solihull, and surrounding areas.
By booking our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions
- Company: The Royals Removals
- Customer: The person booking the service
- Goods: All items being transported
- Service: Removals, packing, transport, and related services
2. Quotations
- All quotes are based on information provided by the Customer
- Quotes may change if:
- Additional items are added
- Access conditions differ from what was described
- Job duration increases beyond the original estimate
- Quotes are valid for 7 days only
- Final charges may be adjusted on the day if details are inaccurate
3. Payment Terms
3.1 Deposits
- A deposit may be required to secure your booking
- Booking is not confirmed until deposit is received
3.2 Payment Methods
We accept:
- Bank transfer
- Cash
- Card payments (if available)
3.3 Payment Timing
- Full payment must be made before unloading, or immediately upon completion
3.4 Late Payments
- Late payments may result in additional fees
- Legal recovery action may be taken
3.5 Minimum Charges
- Minimum booking time applies (e.g. 2β3 hours)
- Additional time is charged hourly
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Cancellation within 48 hours may result in loss of deposit
- Same-day cancellation = full charge may apply
- Rescheduling is subject to availability
- We may cancel due to:
- Adverse weather conditions
- Safety risks
- Unforeseen circumstances
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:
- Provide an accurate item list
- Ensure adequate parking and access at both properties
- Arrange parking permits if required
- Ensure goods are packed (unless a packing service has been booked)
- Disconnect all appliances before the move
6. Delays & Waiting Time
- Additional charges apply for delays caused by:
- Customer not ready at the agreed time
- Key collection delays
- Access issues at either property
- Waiting time is charged at our standard hourly rate
7. Prohibited Items
We do NOT transport:
- Hazardous materials
- Gas cylinders, fuel, or chemicals
- Illegal goods
- Perishable items
- Pets or livestock
8. Condition of Goods (Pre-existing Damage)
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage, including scratches, dents, chips, or marks
- Customers must declare any existing damage before the move
- Items may be photographed before transport for records
- Claims for pre-existing damage will not be accepted
9. Flat-Pack / IKEA Furniture
- IKEA and flat-pack furniture is transported at Customer's risk
- These items are structurally weaker after assembly
- We are not liable for loose joints or breakage during transport
- Dismantling and reassembly must be agreed in advance, is charged extra, and limited liability applies
10. TVs, Monitors & Fragile Electronics
- Must be properly packed or in original packaging
- If not packed by us, items are transported at Customer's risk
- We are not liable for screen damage or internal faults
- Extra insurance is strongly recommended for high-value electronics
11. Appliances (Fridge, Washing Machine, etc.)
Customer Requirements
- All appliances must be disconnected before the move
- Appliances must be empty, clean, and dry
Fridges & Freezers
- Must be defrosted at least 24 hours before the move
- We are not liable for water damage or internal faults
Washing Machines / Dishwashers
- Must be drained and disconnected prior to arrival
- Reconnection is not included unless specifically agreed
General Appliance Disclaimer
- We are not liable for electrical or mechanical faults, or damage caused by movement and vibration during transit
12. Electrical Items
- All electrical goods are transported at Customer's risk unless packed by us
- No liability for internal damage or malfunction
13. Packing Responsibility
Customer Packed Items
- No liability for damage inside boxes packed by the Customer
Company Packed Items
- We accept responsibility for the quality of our packing work
14. Handling & Transport
- Minor wear may occur during removals as part of normal handling
- We are not liable for tight access scuffs or items that do not fit safely through doorways or staircases
15. Property Damage
- We are not liable for pre-existing property damage or weak structural elements
- All claims must be reported within 24 hours of the move
16. High-Risk Items
The following items are transported at Customer's risk:
- Glass items and glassware
- Marble and stone furniture
- Mirrors
- Artwork and paintings
- Antiques and collectibles
17. Claims Procedure
- All claims must be made within 24 hours of the move
- Claims must include photographic evidence of the damage
- Late claims may be rejected
18. Insurance Terms
Standard Cover
- Limited liability applies per item and per job as outlined in our insurance documentation
Exclusions β We do NOT cover:
- Pre-existing damage
- Customer-packed items
- Flat-pack furniture issues
- Internal appliance faults
Additional Insurance
- Available at extra cost upon request
- Strongly recommended for high-value items
19. Storage (If Applicable)
- Storage charges apply at agreed rates
- Goods are stored at Customer's risk unless separate insurance is arranged
20. Refusal of Service
We may refuse service if:
- Unsafe working conditions are present
- Abusive or threatening behaviour occurs
- Undeclared or prohibited items are discovered
- There is a risk of overloading our vehicles
21. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
22. Acceptance of Terms
By booking our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all Terms & Conditions outlined on this page.
